Who is tshepi?

INTRODUCTION

Tshepiso Tsogang also known“TshepiDiva” is the current title holder of Miss Queen Globe International 2020 which took place in Thailand, Bangkok in December 2019. Tshepiso wears multiple hats as a Youth Diplomat, Model, Actress, YouTuber and Social Entrepreneur who is the founder of a community project GirlChild Education. 

                   EARLIER LIFE

Born and bread in the suburb of Kuruman, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. Went to Laerskool Kuruman where she participated in athletics, school plays and was a member of the school choir. 

 

Later Tshepiso attended Hoerskool Kalahari and describes it as a place “where it all began” because she could merge her love for academia, leadership and performing arts. She was a journalist for the schools news paper, participated in the school plays and performed the monologues she wrote at the Northern Cape Arts Festival (for drama-speech-music) where she always took first place. Based on her strong leadership qualities she was placed as head girl for the school’s boarding and became an exchange student to Germany through the FSA Youth Exchange Program. She played for the tennis and field hockey team and excelled in her academics.

                  EDUCATION

 

After completing High School, Tshepiso enrolled at the Los Angeles Acting School based in America, California, Hollywood to study acting for film/tv. After completing her studies in the USA she flew back to South Africa and enrolled at the prestigious University of Cape Town (UCT) and graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree. During her time at UCT she was a news reader for the UCT Campus Radio. She was a mentor and orientation leader for first year students.

 

She traveled to Brazil, Sau Paulo representing South Africa as a youth delegate focusing on socio-economic issues that affect the youth. Later on she traveled to China, Gaungzhong as a youth delegate representing South Africa at the iLive2Lead Women International Summit. Thereafter, she traveled to South Korea and worked for the Korean Government. When her duties were completed in South Korea, Tshepiso relocated to America where she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts based in New York where she studied musical theater. Tshepiso one day hopes to obtain a PhD. 

 

                       CAREER

Although Tshepiso is a qualified actress and very much passionate about the performing arts. She is known for her work as a model and beauty pageant queen. While she was still a University student in Cape Town she did various commercials, voice overs, print advertisements and fashion shows with different designers. She than merged into the art of beauty pageants because she saw a great need for young women’s voices to be heard. She is known to be in national pageants like Miss South Africa, Miss Sundowns, Miss Earth and Miss Inspire only to mention a few.

 

Through her work in the pageantry world she became a lead advocate for young girls and always made sure that she created awareness of her community project, GirlChild Education. The main objective of the project is to plant a seed in the mind of a young girl that they should depend on education as a key to economic and financial freedom.

 

Tshepiso is very passionate about girls and therefore makes use of the United Nations Sustainable Goal Development 4: “Gender, Education Quality & Equality” through her project to improve the livelihood, self-confidence and develop a strong mindset of a girl child. She wants to give a strong voice to young girls because they are marginalized and violated in a society where they must be protected. Tshepiso believes that if you educate a girl child you educate an entire nation that will build financially stable households. Tshepiso also serves as the Vice President of World Merit Local Council, a member of the SAAI and United Nations program and a member of the Women in Mining group.

 

Tshepiso is one of the leaders in the African Women Leaders Network in Zimbabwe and has contributed to the policy writing of the Women Charter in Zimbabwe that was signed and approved by President Emmerson Mmnagagwa at the 6th Session of the African Regional Forum in February 2020 that took place in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls. This platform unlocked many doors for Tshepiso that led her to partner with the Uganda Youth and adolescents Health Forum.   

 

This young lady looks forward to attending more youth led Summits/Conferences around the world that will add more value into her life and focus on the betterment of young girls.
